Maureen Denise McCormick is the only child and youngest of Richard McCormick. Her birth date was August 5, 1956 in Woodland Hills. Her father taught school and her mother was at home. Michael, Dennis, Kevin and her younger sister. McCormick started performing and singing in her early years. McCormick would also perform for neighborhood kids. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6, which led to an inquiry from the an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency in which she was asked if she would like to work in showbusiness. McCormick got her first major part in 1964 when she was cast in the television advertisement of Mattel's "Baby Pattaburp,"" the company's newest doll. Another commercial for Mattel was filmed in 1964 to promote the "Chatty-Cathy" doll. Shortly afterward, McCormick was chosen to play the lead character of Wind It Up and It breaks on the stage of La Jolla Playhouse. McCormick was the youngest of three twins in the 1969 TV comedy The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson was the star, Robert Reed the father and Robert Reed playing the newlyweds. The series lasted 5 years. In her book, Here's the story How I Survived Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that was released in 2008, McCormick revealed that during the show's fifth season she nearly lost her virginity to her onscreen brother, co-star Barry Williams. She was 16 years old when she was in the scene; Barry was just 19. She said that "it was likely to have happened" but the timing wasn't right.
